From the time I wanted to release this blog (in 2016) til now, A LOT has changed!
Brief changes:
- Graduated from college
- Healed myself of anemia
- I found meditation ..(or meditation found me!)
- Single..oh yes, the tragic “S”!
- Focused on the things that stricken my health
But for the most part, anemia was killing me slowly. Anemia is defined as having the lack of healthy red blood cells to function at an optimal level. Your body makes red blood cells or Hgb or hemoglobin with the help of iron. Anemics lack the healthy levels of iron or ferritin to produce and strengthen these cells. A normal, non-anemic person should have levels of hemoglobin of around 12-18, my levels reached 7.6 and sometimes lower, if I wasn’t careful. Due to my anemia, symptoms such as Pica (eating ice for a meal replacement), bruising from broken veins due to the lack of oxygen getting to the necessary places, and other things occurred.
For exactly 10 years or more, I was a semi-functioning anemic. Weakness in legs, longer than normal menstrual cycles, hair breakage, eating ice regularly, teeth/bite issues from the ice consumption, dry skin, and other numerous things; basically, anemia had been ruining my life. One day I had enough, got my blood testing done and my results were awful. I am truly surprised and grateful that I did not need a blood transfusion at any point. So I searched for something that matched my principles of self-care healthcare and stumbled upon a company, MegaFood.
MegaFood “BloodBuilder”, based on clinical studies, increases iron levels without constipation and other unnecessary side effects.
Ingredients:
- Vitamin C from organic oranges
- Folate from broccoli
- Vitamin B12
- Iron
- Beetroot
Taking one pill a day on a empty stomach for 2 months…it was simply life-changing. My numbers doubled into the normal ranges, energy replenished, and PICA was finito! I was relieved and still extremely grateful. I will post a photo of the actual bottle I use in the “Conscious Products” tab, or you can click the link below to purchase from the website or via Amazon (cheaper options available based on pill count). Chewables and mini tablets are also available.
Check out on Megafood’s Website!
Also sold on Amazon.
