Life is beautiful.. and life can also seem complicated or redundant with lessons. “Ish” or s*** lol.. includes money problems, relationship problems, work problems, school, family, etc. can seem impossible to manage, and throwing in the towel with vices or escaping the world seems much easier. Although sadly enough, with those tactics, the problems don’t go away. Honestly, finding how to better respond to those problems, ways that are going to keep you moving, positive, motivated, and fearless in tackling anything, or knowing the best steps to take without demising or ruining your environment (e.g., family, friends, partner/spouse, etc.) softens the blow and encourages those who watch from the outside.

View the FIVE ways I stay motivated .. when ish “seems” impossible…

ONE

Pray/Meditate

No matter your religion/beliefs, releasing whatever is troubling your mind and thoughts to a Higher being is always good. I pray to God and talk to my angels and ancestors sent to walk me through troubling sands. I may take 5 to 10 minutes before opening my eyes and sometimes 30 seconds to release what has rattled my life, mind, and spirit and whisper or silently pray that things will turn out for my good. This helps to recenter your mind, breathe, and reset with a calmer approach instead of falling prey to surrounding chaos or making an unforgivable decision.

If therapy is more to your liking, read one of my previous blogs, here.

TWO

Sleep

Who says adults can’t have nap time anymore?

All thanks to movements like The Nap Ministry, adult nap times are imperative to tackling life. Getting enough sleep can transform your mind, adaptogen immune system, and allow for a serious pause on whatever ish has hit the fan. People close to me will tell you I love to keep my phone on DND (Do Not Disturb) because I am one, pacing my day when I am ready to deal with who or what is on the other end, and two, I am getting my rest.. SLEEP! If you are lethargic, can’t decide whether you are coming or going, or someone is on your phone or cubicle (lol) disrupting your day, hit the DND and take a nap based on these occasions, so you don’t ruin your night’s sleep, or wake up the next day, and tackle the person or issue with grace, tact, and expression of your true character; not coming from cranky pantsville because you haven’t gotten any rest.

THREE

Travel

take a trip.

@foodchangeslife

GTHOOT (Get the heck out of town) !!!! Respectfully and not lol.

Book a trip, far or near/staycation. New scenery can allow for a serious regroup, alone or with your partner or friends, and honestly can rejuvenate your world. This is the opportunity to learn something new or just be and allow things to settle in your mind and world and to return later or NOT, honestly, with a new motivation to start anew. I create a list of places I want to visit either through Pinterest, a travel show, or just simply word of mouth, find something in my price range (because honestly, you don’t have to break the bank for peace), I check my schedule so I don’t overbook (because that can cause unnecessary chaos), and GO!!!!!! DUECES!!!!! ADIOS!!!!! BON VOYAGE!!!!

You can post on social media about your time away or NOT!!

Enjoy it!

What you do, is your business, and it is your time.

FOUR

Self-Date

No boo? Wifey? Hubby?.. that’s fine. Take yourself somewhere and be unapologetic about it. Get up after a nice rest, and treat yourself to a spa date, movie date, coffee date, or music blasting and clean your place date, whatever it is, do it and allow yourself to enjoy and not think about the other ish.

FIVE

Cry

Yes.. boo hoo and snot it out! If you need to kickstart the water works by watching a sad, sappy movie or a simple act of kindness that brings joy yet a little eye watering, release the sob. Crying allows the body to let go of the built up emotion that’s causing the frustration or the thought that stuff is impossible and you are spiraling. Scream, safely break something that you won’t regret missing, and cry until you feel a weight lifted. No need to clock how long you have been emotionally releasing, just do it, you may even incorporate pray and meditation, as mentioned above. Releasing what seems impossible will allow illness/stress to move on and not lay dormant to grow into cells that are harmful.

Grab your tissues and let go. New things are on the horizon.

You Got This.
